Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner.(Eyeliner)

Awesome Staying Power, April 22, 2010
By Pancha :

I LOVE Maybelline Gel Eye Liner - Brown!
I always had this problem of the stick eye liner melting around my eyes and making me look like a racoon, and liquid eye liners always flaked and faded because i have EXTREMELY oily skin including my eye lid area.
after trying this gel liner I'll never go back! It even has a really fine angular brush that comes free with it! How cool is that?! It's very soft and does the job perfectly. You can make your eye liner as thick or as thin as you desire. It's also really nice for blending in with eye shadow. I have caramel Asian skin, slightly on the fairer side, so I got brown for office wear, slightly subtle; and black for party wear.
It lasts all through the day and is water proof as well. At the end of the day all I have to do is gently dab away the eye liner with a clean earbud covered in a little lotion-type eye-makeup remover. Avon's is amazingly gentle, hydrating, and very very affordable!
I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants their eye makeup to actually stay on their eyes and not melt off or flake off.

No smudge, no creasing, INCREDIBLE!!!, October 15, 2010
By sdoucette :
I've used many different brands and styles of eye liner, and this one is by far my absolute favorite! So here is my experience:

I love the softer look of a pencil, but the darn stuff wears off, or smudges, or creases on my upper lid within a few hours. I've tried liquid liners before, but didn't care for the hard line, and if you mess up (I'm no pro) you have to start the whole eye from scratch. The gel liner...super easy to apply with the little brush and you can put as much or as little as you like. I do a thinner smoky line on my upper eye and just a bit on the lower outer corner. If you wanted that heavy liquid line, you could certainly accomplish that too with this product. I found I have much more control with the gel and the brush than the liquid. not to mention I've had liquid liner run into my eyes (man does that stuff burn!).

I have hot eyelids and this is the only product that lasts a full 24 hours!, August 25, 2011

I love wearing eyeliner and wear it everyday time allows. My two staples in life are eyeliner and lipgloss. However, for some reason, my eyelids run hot. almost every stick eyeliner I purchase ends up smearing and by the end of the day I look like a sleep deprived raccoon. This has forced me to switch over to things like liquid eyeliners that set after application. I still however find that unintentionally rubbing my eyes or teary moments (they happen!) leave me looking somewhat of a mess.
Thank goodness makeup companies push out tons of products and now there are pots of eyeliner colors that are applied with a brush. They come in a small pot, like the Maybelliene eye studio and are a very thick creme texture. Armed with a nifty eye liner brush they give you, I am able to quickly, very quickly, and accurately draw eyeliner across my lash line. I love this because there is no waiting with one eye open like liquid eye liner, and the creme seems to instantly bond with my skin and stay there. I can wear this all day long, sweating at my coffee job, or nap with my baby in the day and still look put together. Even when I wake up in the morning, having again neglected to take my makeup off, I look decent. It easily washes off with soap and water and I never get the left over black bags under my eyes look.
I have also tried Loreals HIP brand eyeliners and I was also impressed with the outcome. Loreals however comes with three different colors. Maybellienes brush is superior and I would recommend it if you want to do more design like cat eyes or have better control of the thickness as Maybellienes brush is tapered.
The drawbacks, which wont hinder me from the purchase of this product in the future, is that the pot will dry out at around the 3 month mark. If you use this everyday then you will get your moneys worth. i also suggest finding and buying brush cleaner, which I dont have. the bristles tend to get sticky and the makeup crumbles a little on it just sitting in the open air. I attempt to wash mine every once in a while but brush cleaner would be ideal. Also, if you loose your brush, which I have, you pretty much cant use your eyeliner!
Overall I am happy with this product!

Italia Eyeliners Set of 12 .(Eyeliner)

Surprisingly good!!!!!, May 27, 2012
By sheillagh :
I bought these and was hoping that I would like a few of them. They were not expensive so even if a few were blah it would still be worth it. I am so shocked and pleasantly surprised. They are very creamy and glide on smoothly. They also blend easily because the texture is so smooth. Now let me tell you about the colors. They are stunningly bright and beautiful. There are a few metallics like bronze, silver and gold. There are a few pastels like lilac, baby blue and baby pink. Then the rest are bold and bright colors like hot pink and teal. Also the set comes with a white pencil that is the same quality as NXY jumbo pencil in Milk. I can't tell you how pleased i am that I ordered these. My only con, which really isn't much of a con because I usually do this anyways, but you should set the color with the same or similar color shadow because they will smudge. Once set they have great staying power.

High quality for the price, March 22, 2013
By I. Finicle (Seattle, WA) :
When purchasing products for my initial makeup pro kit, I knew that I couldn't buy EVERYTHING from the MAC store and other 'pro' shop places. I had to invest in SO many products, so I opted for this set since it received good reviews and the price was right. I made the right choice. They are highly pigmented, glide smoothly without clumps, smearing or dryness. They will be perfect for an all over lid smudge/ base for a similar color to go on top instead of just as a basic 'eyeliner line' on the lid. Can't wait to use them all!

They arrived early and I am so happy with this product and service. They go on very smooth and are vibrant. A variety of colors and very long pencils so they will last long! :) Thank you!

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner.(Eyeliner)

The only liner that stays!, February 7, 2011
By C. Au "sophisticated" (hawaii) :
I cannot live without eyeliner. Let's just say that if I could choose only one cosmetic item, it would be eyeliner. Because my skin is oily, I usually start the day with perfect eyeliner only to end the day with dark under-eye circles from the eyeliner melting throughout the day. Not pretty. So I have spent lot's of $ trying to find the eyeliner that would stay.

Liquid eyeliner can be hard to apply but when I tried Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, not only was it easy to apply but it did what eyeliner should! Stila Stay All Day, stayed all day! AND it did not smudge! Love it and can't live without it!

Amazing Waterproof Liner, June 26, 2011
By Courtney Blair Cameron :
I have very oily skin, but particularly annoying, I also have oily eyelids. Before I found Stila All Day Waterpoof Liner, no matter what I used, I always found that it wore off or smeared by the end of the day. This product is a LIFE SAVER! So many products claim to be waterproof, but this is the only eyeliner that truly lives up to its word. It dries quickly and won't smear, smudge or transfer. It's basically tattooed to your face until you use makeup remover!

I should mentioned that in addition to its amazing staying power, this eyeliner is also incredibly easy to use. The tip glides easily and accurately- very "goof proof".

Since trying this, I haven't used another liner! If you've been frustrated by other liners, definitely give this one a shot!

THE best, March 10, 2012
By Naunet   :
I'm definitely no makeup artist and I kind of wing applying my own makeup. I have that whole monolid issue going on, so any kind of eye makeup has been a problem since I started wearing makeup. The really bad culprit is mascara. I've tried everything from using eye shadow as an eyeliner to the Stila Smudge Pot. I was pretty satisfied with the Smudge Pot, but then it dried out right away. I saw videos that explained to use eyedrops that contain glycerin to get the Smudge Pot more liquidy again, but that only works for so long. I hired a makeup artist for my wedding and she used the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liner. I'm still a huge fan (only been applying it for 2 months so far) and haven't been disappointed. As mentioned before, I've found the main culprit for runny makeup under my eyes is mascara. The Stila Stay All Day doesn't run and yeah, it fades a teeny bit, but not noticeably. I agree that you should apply it over a shadow or something and it might help to apply a powdered primer right after. (I use Mac's Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder). I hope this lasts me as long as one other reviewer said (6 months!)

I love this product!! It is very waterproof & smudge proof. It reminds me what Mally says on QVC.com It is a bulletproof product, wont come off till you take it off. Works great. I love that it comes with a crayon pen as well for your lower lash & water line. I just wish that the liquid part was a little more flexable.

Upper Lower Lash Mascara Applicator Guide Eyelash Comb .(mascara)

Loved it for my short lashes, December 28, 2011
By Kerry (Bay Area, CA) :
At my recent eye appointment, my doctor told me that I should start using mascara on my bottom lashes because they are growing straight into my eye. Since I didn't want to get mascara gunk all over my face, I decided to look for solutions. I found a mascara shield on Pintrest and decided that I should search for it on Amazon. I found this one and recieved it yesterday. It works WONDERFULLY with my super short lashes! I like that I don't have to hold the shield at a weird angle to use it on my top lashes and I'm able to see what I'm doing when I'm doing on the bottom lashes :) There's a slight curve to fit the curve of my lashes so it fits great in my eye sockets so I can put mascara on. I'm really happy with this $5 purchase! :)

Great shape for my eyes, October 24, 2013
By Over 50 and Lovin' It (Merry Land USA) :
I have small, slightly deep set eyes and have tried other guides (like Dior's). This is the first one that not only can reach back to my eye but also fits the shape of my upper eyelid and it is easy to use. Not quite so easy to clean as the ridges (used to help separate the lashes) catch the mascara. I find alcohol or handsoap works better than brush cleaner to remove. Eye makeup remover pads work great to clean this.

what a great invention!!, September 28, 2012
By cloverab :
I have looked all over the internet for just the right tool to help keep mascara off of my eyeshadow. I finally found it. I had to look at you tube for instructions on how to use it because they're in another language on the back. But the video is more than useful. It is very easy to use and has a comb on the other end too. I am so happy to have found this.

Disposable Eyelash Mascara Brushes/Wands 50 pack.(Mascara)

Great product!, August 6, 2012
By sslgb4 (Massachusetts, USA) :
I have an immunodeficiency currently and have to keep everything, including my make-up, as sanitary as possible. These are doing the trick... as I never have to contaminate my mascara tube with repeated use of the same wand. These have been a life saver, quite literally!

Excellent Quality / Value!, May 17, 2012
By Susan Kay Miller "Lovin' Life in SW Colorado!" (Pagosa Springs, CO) :
I think, whatever your expectations for a mascara wand are... you'll be pleased with these. I use them to dye my eyelashes, which is a very precise and possibly messy job. These wands help me keep the gel where it needs to be and separates while coating the entire lash. The wands even stand up to washing! Excellent Value! Fast Shipping Too!

Great brushes!, December 12, 2012
By Lisa Kemmerling :
These brushes work great for applying mascara without contaminating your entire tube. The brush is really soft and distributes the mascara without clumping. Highly recommend.

Never Had A Problem With It In Years, December 26, 2013
By Medley :

I've been using this mascara for years and never had the problems mentioned in so many reviews of difficulties removing it, smudging, etc.. in fact I haven't had to use anything special to get it off. In the shower, I just use water and wipe it off with a bath cloth, since it's not waterproof- once it's wet it just slides off onto a cloth. If there are any streaks on my face (from the shower), I just wash my cheeks with soap/water and off it comes.

It is true that the formula starts out very thin when you first open it and thickens over time, so you have to wait and recoat the first few times you use it.

But it's been the best mascara I've ever used for rich color saturation and a thick look. I've been asked several times if my lashes were false.

BEST Drugstore Mascara, April 23, 2013
By Green Eyes (Los Angeles) :

I read all the reviews on this mascara and felt like I had to put my two cents in. I have tried just about every L'Oreal mascara. this is by far the best. this alone has given me more compliments on my eyes and eyelashes than anything else. more than once I have been asked if my eyelashes were real or not. thank you L'Oreal.

the color is very rich. when I apply it, it coats every strand with its dark, beautiful goop that makes my eyelashes look sexy, long, and full. maybe not a word someone uses to describe mascara, but it is very creamy, not dry like some mascaras are (even when first opened). when I take it out, the tip contains a tiny bit of mascara on it or in other words, the tip contains more of the 'goop'. this works for me because I use that to apply it to the edges, making my eyelashes appear even fuller and resulting in a wing tip sort of look (for the eyelashes).

in beginner hands, I can see how that would pose a problem. I have never had an issue with clumping or my eyelashes looking like they have fused into two pointy lashes. we all know that when applying mascara, you have to wiggle it all the way through to avoid clumps. with this mascara, 1-2 coats is enough because with the first coat, it gets the job done. want even fuller darker lashes? do a second coat BUT don't forget to wiggle the brush and to not wait too long in between coats. applying a second coat on dried lashes is a BAD IDEA.

as for makeup remover not removing the mascara. again, that was not a problem for me. I don't use eye makeup remover to remove my eye makeup. I use baby shampoo (it is really cheap compared to eye makeup remover and it is safe and gentle to use on my eyes). it removes all traces of my makeup, mascara and all.

it does not wear off throughout the day, does not smear, and even stayed put through a very vigorous workout in a non air conditioned place. my face sweats a lot, compared to the people around me (even in 75 degree weather), and never has my mascara smeared or came off as a result of that. take it from someone who applies mascara every day, has fallen asleep in it (by accident!), has worked out, cried, and hooked up in it. it is aaaamazing.

Maybelline New York The Falsies Volum' Express Washable Mascara.(mascara)

Much Better than Expected, February 7, 2011
By AnonymousRM "RM" (Connecticut, USA) :

I had grown weary of Maybelline's constant introduction and discontinuation of mascaras. I was almost ready to give up on the company entirely when it discontinued my long favorites "Lash Stylist" and "Sky High Curves". I got "The Falsies" with a promotion at a local drug store or I'd probably never have tried it. Well, much to my surprise it's actually very good. I don't get the reviews about the clumping and other issues. This mascara is surprisingly non-clumpy and I think I should know about clumps because I've been using mascara since about 1974, when I started with the now iconic "Great Lash". In fact, "The Falsies" mascara is so non-clumpy it's refreshing. It clumps a LOT less than previous Maybelline technology, even mascaras I used to love like "Lash Stylist" and "Sky High Curves". It's also very lightweight and does not feel heavy on the eyes even with multiple coats. On top of that, it's VERY gentle and great for those with sensitive eyes and who wear contact lenses like me. It's full of natural ingredients, vitamins and plant extracts, too, so it's a lot more natural than mascaras of previous generations.

I find that it does pretty much everything you'd want a mascara to do. It lengthens, thickens, curls, defines and sharpens the color. I honestly feel like my eyelashes look younger with this product on! They are so full, lush, dark and long that I almost can't believe it!

I also have news for all of you out there. Does anyone read the ingredient lists on these products anymore? Because guess what - The ingredients in pretty much ALL of the latest crop of Maybelline Mascaras are virtually identical. That's right - Every single Volume Express, Define a lash, Pulse Perfection, One by One, Falsies and whatever else is on the market have the exact same ingredients in them, in exactly the same order. Maybe one ingredient will be different in each one way down the list (and hence very inconsequential). The only real difference is the packaging and the brush.

So there you go, people, you are being outwitted by corporate American marketing schemes. I'll bet the people at Maybelline are doing a study on how the packaging and the brush can make the difference between love and hate for some consumers. I'll bet there are millions of women out there who'd hate this mascara but have nothing but love, love, love for Define a Lash, never even knowing that the only real difference between them is the stupid brush, LOL.

So if ever there's a Maybelline mascara that you sorely miss, don't fret - Just keep the old brush (make sure to wash it thoroughly and often) and use it in another similar Maybelline mascara. I'll bet you'll never know the difference. I kept a few of the combs from "Lash Stylist" but now that we have other brushes out there like the curved one in "The Falsies" and the big fat one in "One by One", I have not felt the need to use them. Although I did fall in love with "Pulse Perfection", which has recently been discontinued. Now that I know its ingredients are identical to the other Maybelline Mascaras, I'll save that brush and use it until the battery runs out.

Oh, and by the way, those of you who are complaining here about clumps and other issues might not be using the brush correctly. Perhaps you might do better with one of the other Maybelline mascaras that don't have a curved brush. But don't throw this mascara away on that account - Clean and use a brush from another Maybelline mascara that you like with this mascara, because it's all really the same formula anyway. And go on Youtube and get some pointers on how to use different mascara brushes. That's just some advice from a 52 year old who's been wearing mascara since she was 15!

My new Favorite!!, October 12, 2010
By Dimples (SD, Ca USA) :

I love this Mascara! It makes my lashes look HUGE in every way. Now to be fair, I LOVED Maybelline's previously "most hated" mascara in the yellow tube, the Colossal. It may be how I apply these products, or my desired finished look works with the formulas.

I love the new brush. I thought it would be awkward and take some time to adjust to, I was SO wrong. First application was easy and lashes looked great! I do sometimes hit my eye (yes my eyeball) with traditional brushes & this scoop brush solved that problem.

The formula is much thinner than I'm use to, but I like how easy it is to apply and adjust with the brush. It does not dry as fast as other mascaras, hooray!! This gives me plenty of time to build volume & length and separate occasional clumps (an unavoidable part of drugstore mascara). Even with multiple coats my lashes feel light and flexible.

The removal is harder than most, but some jojoba oil on a cotton ball takes it right off & conditions your lashes too.

One plus about its unusual staying power, I was drinking water and it splashed onto one eye drenching my lashes. Fearing raccoon syndrome I grabbed my mirror. Not one streak, clump, or other issue. I guess the regular is as good as waterproof. I won't be trying the waterproof ;)
